There are three separate issues being used to assault American life that stand out among the myriad of things President Obama and the Socialist party have been making happen every day for the past 4 months.
One is the abrogation of contract law. This is an obvious violation of the constitution and yet the president of the United States has, in front of the world, vilified primary creditors, and placed secondary creditors to the head of the line to pay back political favors. He has done this in the open, and very few Americans have said a word. Only one TV network has raised an alarm. I am of course referring to first the Chrysler fiasco, and now the GM bankruptcy that is headed down the same path. In the event we allow this to stand, no law, and no person, group, group of people or laws is safe from the political whims of the president and his socialist majority in the Congress. I have dispensed at this point with even calling them Democrats.
Announced today was a bill introduced by Senator Conrad outlining a VAT, value added tax, on all goods and services in the US. This is basically a federal sales tax. As I am sure you know, the Socialist Democracies of Europe all have VAT taxes, and so shall we say our socialists, to the tune of about 25% of every dime you spend, regardless of your income tax bracket, and in addition to the existing income tax, not as a replacement, as in the so called fair tax. To further explain, a Vat tax historically is applied at every layer of the economy. For instance, the tax is levied when the manufacturer sells to the wholesaler, again when the wholesaler sells to the retailer, and finally when the purchase is made by the consumer. Incidentally, the consumer does not see the VAT when purchasing goods and services. It is built into the price of the item. Hence, the reason so many European countries have been able to hide the tax for so long in their respective countries.
This particular bill may not pass, but you can rest assured, the government needs some serious additional tax receipts to subject us to governmental control of our financial sector, manufacturing, healthcare and energy. We will also be hit separately with the cap and trade taxes on all energy related items, which is all fuel for your car, home, and manufactured goods, assuming any are still made in the USA.
The third, and maybe the most dangerous of all the daggers, if they are to succeed, is the new Fairness Doctrine. It is not currently in place, nor is it on the way to being enacted this week, but fear not, the Congress has every intention of shutting down all communication that is of a dissenting opinion, particularly talk radio conservatives, but ultimately anyone who dissents at any level.
I sent a letter to each Socialist/ democrat senator recently expressing my opinion with regard to a fairness doctrine. I got a few responses that weren't really pertinent to the discussion, but I did get the reply below from Senator Sherrod Brown. The Senator uses a lot of double speak, but read the response and decide for yourself what he was actually saying. Bear in mind the linguistic methods being employed by Obama and his cronies. I have no doubt one will be enacted to shut up first the radio talk show hosts, then Foxnews, and finally everyone of us who hasn't already been cowered by the FBI, Secret Service, or IRS.
We are in very dangerous waters. We stand to lose our freedom. This isn't radically idle talk. This is reality. American capitalism, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, contract law, and every other facet of the rights in our constitution are under direct assault every single day. We have a moral responsibility to act. We need to be surrounding the Capitol and the White House all day every day. Obviously, most of us have jobs that require our daily attention in order to survive. There are however, millions of us now out of a job, and the number is increasing by several hundred thousand a month. I am one of those currently unemployed, but good fortune and a few conservative decisions have made it possible for me to be in a position to spend large amounts of time to a cause I believe in, and I do believe. I am ready. I want to take whatever actions are necessary and helpful. If enough of us can keep a permanent vigil, with the support of all behind us, we can and will make a difference. We not only must ensure the defeat the majority in 2010, we have to get our message out in spite of the mainstream media to those 60% or so of Americans who think Obama is doing a good job.
The three things mentioned here are by no means a comprehensive list of social atrocities, but these three issues represent the certainty that Obama can defeat 240 years of freedom in his first four years in office, if we are not able to mount an overwhelming public outcry, and demonstrate to these representatives, and I use this term loosely, that we will not stand by and allow them to destroy our way of life, and the greatest nation the world has ever known.
Here is Senator Brown's response re Fairness doctrine......
Dear Mr. Shirk:
Thank you for sharing your views on Fairness Doctrine legislation.
The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) created policy in 1949 known as the "Fairness Doctrine," which was an attempt to ensure that all coverage of controversial issues by a broadcast station be balanced, fair, and provide multiple viewpoints. This policy was crafted so as to prevent privately-owned stations from jeopardizing the public airwaves and presenting one single perspective.
During the 1980s, the FCC dissolved the "Fairness Doctrine" and no longer enforces it. Judgment of what is one-sided or unfair is currently left to broadcasters and the viewing public.
While there have been suggestions to reintroduce the "Fairness Doctrine" into law, there has so far been no action in the 111th Congress to do so. However, a bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives and the Senate entitled the Broadcaster Freedom Act that would proactively prevent reinstatement of the "Fairness Doctrine." Recently, on the Senate side, an amendment was offered to the D.C. House Voting Rights Act that would prohibit reintroduction of the "Fairness Doctrine" by the FCC. I supported this Amendment, which passed by a vote of 87 to 11. I also supported a separate Amendment that continues the prohibition on the "Fairness Doctrine," but allows the FCC to promote diversity in media ownership. This Amendment passed by a vote of 57 to 41.
I support the goals underlying the Fairness Doctrine but believe that official reinstatement is not necessary. Democracies rely on a dispassionate press that reports the facts with objectivity and presents a diversity of perspectives in its editorial content. When a single ideology dominates the press -- whether it is liberal or conservative -- the line between information and propaganda can easily become blurred. Should such legislation be brought before the Senate for a vote, I will keep your views in mind. Thank you again for getting in touch with my office.
Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown
United States Senator
