Congressional Retirement

I knew that our federal representatives had a generous pension plan, but until receiving this email today, explained below, I didn't realize they took themselves out of the Social Security program. Your next question may be, as is mine, what of the money most of them would have paid in prior to being elected, or after they have left government service? Do they get their social security on top of these pensions? I would have to believe so, but I will soon find out, hopefully before I publish this.

Americans have allowed our elected officials to place themselves above the rest of us. I think perhaps we have done so only because they really haven't gotten in our way, for the most part. Now that Obama is president, with a Congress willing to commit any atrocity on the constitution, and willing to pass any law, raise any tax, or take any action he desires, they are not only in our way, but in our face. Every single day we are hearing of another assault on our rights. Or the government is taking control of another industry, firing a CEO of a private company, threatening to tax a single company's employees at 100%, or confiscating the money of bond holders to give it to the United Auto workers, who are in favor because of the millions they donated to the 2008 democratic party campaigns.

Why then should we be surprised that the Congress sets themselves up for life? The fact that they can deny our constitutional rights enables them to confiscate public funds and allocate themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars for having had the chance to use our government against us. Obama has been called the narcissist in chief, but I would submit that without the Congress to enable his narcissism, we wouldn't be in this pickle.

We not only have the responsibility to throw these bums out of the capitol, we have the responsibility to elect citizens who will go there and change the laws that have been enacted over the course of the last 50 or so years that have resulted in the federal government being the new royalty. Our founders had the good sense to create a government that would prevent any leader from making himself a king. What they failed to see, was that the government would get so big, so powerful, and so out of touch with the people, that they made themselves into Dukes, and Princes, and even Queen Nancy.

Now the Supreme Court is even afraid to cross Obama. I really don't understand how they could refuse to hear the Chrysler case, when the president's auto task force, and the president himself, abrogated 150 years of contract law with respect to bankruptcies, and moved the UAW, a secondary creditor to the front of the bus in front of the bond holders, who are primary creditors. Contract law is the basis for the concept of bonds relative to stocks, and other financial instruments. No decent financial adviser or broker will ever again be able to put a client into a corporate bond, or any bond really. If they ignore the law with respect to corporate bonds, just wait until California Municipal bonds start failing. When it becomes apparent the state won't be able to cover the bond holders, every owner of municipal bonds will be cashing out. When the funds run dry, what will Obama do? Do you really think the government will force CA to liquidate state parks or other state resources to repay their creditors?

Before the Supreme Court refused to hear the State Of Indiana's argument, I would have said of course, that's the law. But the law means nothing in Obamanomics. I sold all of my bonds, got out of my 401k's bond fund, and I will never touch another bond of any type. If everyone feels the same as me, as they very well should, how will corporations, cities, counties, or states raise money for capital projects? They won't, unless the banks loan them the money. But wait, the government already owns the banks. Or, as Obama probably is counting on, the federal government will finance whatever they want to succeed, and reject anyone who is out of favor, or is trying to do something the government doesn't approve of. There is nothing you can call this but Fascism.

Obama has succeeded in five months what took Mussolini and Hitler an entire decade. What in the name of God will be his endgame? I am terrified of what could be coming. In spite of this, there are still more than 60% of Americans who believe the president is doing a good job, and I suppose he is, depending on your perspective. The media isn't lying to us, they just fail to mention most of the facts.

LET US SHOW OUR LEADERS IN WASHINGTON "PEOPLE POWER" AND THE POWER OF THE INTERNET. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE WITH ME ON THIS BY FORWARDING TO EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK.

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!

PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING!!!!

Propose this in 2009: START A BILL TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY
(This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.

Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.

In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the SAME PAY until they die.
Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000.00 during the last years of their lives.

This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA..! ZILCH...

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds; "OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK "!

From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer).. We can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month!!! After retirement.

Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made. That change would be to:

Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us. Then sit back..... And see how fast they fix it.

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

How many people CAN you send this to?

Better yet......

How many people WILL you send this to ?
