Has anyone wondered why Obama's minions suddenly started talking about the hard choices we are going to have to make when it comes to retiring the debt, and handling the growing deficit? The Sunday talk shows featured one Obama aide after another, including Tiny Tim Geithner, who all said without blinking an eye, and very little subtlety, that tax hikes were coming to everyone!
This after Obama has repeatedly said that no one who makes less than $250,000 would pay one dime of additional taxes. There is but one scenario that would force him to go back on those promises. He suddenly fears that his Obamacare nationalized health care plan is going to fail, once our representatives wipe the egg and tomato off their faces when they return from the summer break. I sure hope he is correct. It would be worth it to pay a little extra in taxes as punishment for preventing the esteemed President from successfully ruining the greatest free republic in the history of man!
I sure hope someone besides Fox News picks up on this story and runs with it. It is disheartening to realize the mainstream media continues to give him a pass. George Herbert Walker Bush was run out of Washington on a rail for going back on his "read my lips" promise. If the media allows this president to raise taxes to pay for the out of control spending of the House, he needs to be politically disemboweled!
I don't believe that much of this drunken sailor spending is directly his fault, but it is the President who has given all the power to Nancy Pelosi to pass any piece of garbage legislation the far left has been able to dream about for the last 20 years. He has made a serious error in judgment, again, when it comes to placating Pelosi to get his overall hero worship change into law. His primary goal is to nationalize health care. He apparently really does believe it is an entitlement the American people need and deserve. He is right that we need health care reform, but government control, and health care modeled after Great Britain and Canada is the worse possible option.
Credit him though with getting the republican crooks off their rumps and suggesting what should have been done decades ago. Allow cross state competition among all insurers, tort reform for medical malpractice, and tax equality for non employer paid health care plans. Those three simple steps, heretofore prevented by the powerful lobbyists of the insurance companies and The American Bar Association are all it should take to make health care insurance no more of an issue than car insurance. We may well have to go one or two steps further, and find a way to change the patent rules for the pharmaceutical companies, and perhaps most important of all, incentivize medical students into going into family practice. There is currently no incentive for even average med students to not become a specialist, forget the really bright ones, they all become specialists.
Obama is showing signs of cracking under the stress of defeat. I don't think he has ever lost at anything in his life. Nationalizing health care was to be the crowning moment of his brilliant career. He is now making mistakes in trying to turn the tables in his favor. Once the smell of blood is in the water, the Washington sharks in the media and political arena will devour the flesh before the end of this year if he continues to send out his spokespersons to talk about the hard choices facing the nation. If he actually believes we will take our eye off the ball because of the threat of paying a few more taxes next year, he should know we fully understand that Obamacare will mean increasingly higher taxes forever, even while forcing us into state sponsored euthanasia of our grand parents, then our parents, and finally for us, those who aren't already in one of the first two groups. He has successfully used the bait and switch tactics many times. The best example was starting the health care talk the week the House passed the Cap and Tax bill. We can't let it happen again.
