John Oxendine for Instance

I would encourage all Tea Party Patriots in GA to read the article in the AJC today concerning John Oxendine and political contributions. We desperately need leadership in the Tea Party movement, but I'm not sure that selecting politicians from the current pool available will get us back on the road we need to be headed. You can read the story here:

I am encouraged by the Gwinnett County board of commissioners backing down, at least temporarily on raising the millage rate during the recession. They were inundated with calls, letters, and emails, as well as a large group of protesters appearing before the board to protest. They have just tabled the resolution and will likely bring it back to a vote when we aren't looking. We cannot permit that to happen. We must remain ever vigil in our attempts to control those in power. Thomas Jefferson said, "when the people fear the government, that is tyranny, when the government fears the people that is liberty." We are at a point in our history where the government has no fear of us. We must change that, and change it quickly.

The fact is, our leaders, even at the local level, have not been listening to the ground swell 0f activism telling them to cut spending, lower taxes, not keep the status quo by raising taxes to make up for lost receipts. Our own behavior is showing them the way by being more responsible in our own spending, and yet they still don't get the message. The federal government is about to hit us with a national sales tax, they are calling it a VAT or value added tax. We cannot permit that to pass. You have to write your representatives right away, or it will become the law. We must demonstrate we mean business. We have to vote out those in office now, at every level, who are irresponsible, those who use their offices for personal gain, and those who use their power to grant preferred status to their cronies.

If you ever took a typing class, they used to teach everyone to type using the words, now is the time for every good man to come to the aid of his country. Now is THE TIME. We need good people, who care, to become involved. We can no longer allow those connected few to force feed us with tax and spend policies. This is our turn to save our liberties. We have to stand up and be counted. We must do so in the polls. We must write letters, make telephone calls, send emails, and become active in every facet of government. From the City Council to the President of the United States, we must tell every elected representative exactly what we expect them to do, and what consequences to expect if they fail to deliver. Most importantly of all, we must vote, and throw out every single one that does not act on our behalf. The primary focus of every elected representative has sadly become his own reelection. We can use that information. It is power.

We certainly can't afford to have another Governor like Sonny. He listens really well to the people. We don't need a governor who schmoozes it up with his pals for contributions and hands out powerful appointments either, and we certainly don't need men like that leading the Tea Party movement here in GA or anywhere else.

WE need a stronger force in GA right now. I shared my experience with the FBI and Senator Whitehouse more than a month ago on the Atlanta Tea Party site. I was somewhat bewildered that it received very little attention. Eventually, after having received no response from repeated emails to Senator Whitehouse, no response from Johnny Isaakson, asking for his assistance, and very little support here, I took my story on the road and posted it in Rhode Island, on the national Tea Party site, and the Patriots for America site. The resulting emails, support, and even media involvement has been overwhelming. Another individual, also in Ga, has come forward to report he was visited by the Secret Service. Homeland Security has declared conservative Americans as potential terrorist threats, and Congressman sometimes report you to the FBI or other law enforcement agencies for voicing dissenting opinion to their out of control policies. We cannot permit this to happen in America. We have a right to speak out, WE have a right to say what we believe. And we have the right to say NO!

We need to make a difference, and we need to stand up and be counted as Americans. Our liberty is in serious jeopardy right now. The federal government is out of control. They are considering a new Fairness Doctrine, a national sales tax, the President of the United States has publicly vilified citizens of this country for standing up for their contractual rights and fiduciary responsibilities in his desperate attempt to pay back the unions for getting him elected. No one is complaining, or not enough people are complaining. These are but a few atrocities. New ones appear on a daily basis. So many that we are becoming hardened to it. We cannot allow that to occur. That must be their plan. Just keep assaulting our rights everyday, in all different ways, and many of them will stick. It may be as in this VAT tax. They have thrown it out there. If they don't get too much criticism, then they will pass it. After all, every European country has a VAT tax in addition to their income taxes. The 95% of Americans getting a tax cut and only the top 5% having an increase has vanished with the $3.8 trillion budget. If the government took every penny of wealth from the top 5% of income earners, they still could not pay for all of the spending currently on the table. Huge tax increases across the board are the only way they will ever pay for a government of this size, and you can believe it is coming. It is coming if we don't act. But for now, we do still have a choice.

At this point there are still more than 60% of Americans who are satisfied with the way the government is running the country, according to the polls. I believe this is due to the main stream media reporting the news in an editorialized fashion, when so many people depend on just the three major networks, and their local news papers for all of their information. As such, people may not wake up until their rights are infringed upon personally. This is the method always used to take away a nation's liberty. It disappears in bits and pieces, a little here a little there, and pretty soon we have the gestapo or a reasonable facsimile thereof. We cannot allow this to happen. We must make it one of our daily duties to convince our friends, coorkers, and family members who just don't see what is happening. We have to help them understand that they are in peril. We must take up the fight, regardless of how busy we are. If we don't, no one else can. This is not a war to be fought on the battlefield. This is a war at the polls, and in the minds of Americans. There are those among us, who simply haven't realized yet what is about to happen.

For those of us who have, we must act for everyone else. Not only by voicing our outrage at the government, but by telling the press what we think of their coverage. CNN is right here in our city. They aren't as radically liberal as NBC, but they are guilty of siding with the democrats on most every issue. They give a pass to all liberals, and vilify conservatives for every discretion, no matter how trivial.

The democrats can pass virtually any bill they please right now. President Obama is giving Nancy Pelosi carte blanche to turn the entire country into a model of California, even though California is currently bankrupt, and no one is complaining. Or not enough are complaining. Take a stand today, and every day. Together we can stop these assaults on the constitution. It is the only chance we have of saving our country. It starts right here in Georgia. We can't ignore articles like the one in the AJC today about John Oxendine. WE can't allow the counties and cities to raise our taxes to pay for new parks when our jobs, and our savings, and homes are in jeopardy. We are taking measures in our personal economies that is adversely affecting the amount of taxes collected. we have good reason to be conservative in our spending now, and so does the government. We can't allow government at any level to tax us into oblivion for their benefit, as a result of our personal responsibility. If we do allow it, they most certainly will.
